March 10, 2010, 3:39 amI installed it last Saturday so I had two days to test properties. Installation is very straight forward about ten minutes I NAS up and running after the installation CD. Then I copied the number of files on my PC and without problems. I can not say if the claims as fast as the Buffalo, because I was not able to compare with other NAS, it’s my first.
I do not have a BitTorrent program, and it worked very well. Media Server worked well, I used the Media Player Mezzmo test it on a laptop to the network, and I think the media files, and it was good, I have the Network Media approximately one hours and did it consistently. Web Access feature is not without problems, I have to define your own router to make it, but it was painless, now I can access personal files from anywhere, especially in my work.
I am very pleased with my purchase, I think it’s a good start for me networked media players. The price is a little high, but it is between.

I am editing this review because I bought a UPnP Network Media Player (Philips NP2900), and it worked to my music and photo library to my Link station. When I’m setting up a network NP2900 the inmediatly found my NAS and I could start listening to my music and my photos are displayed. So that is one reason to be satisfied with my purchase.

I’ve replaced LaCie NAS device recently in Buffalo, Buffalo, and usually find a much better device. While LaCie has well in Windows, it has never worked consistently in my Linux and Mac systems.
Buffalo has a few additional protocols, such as the basic FTP, so it does not get a Windows – systems is simple. If you search the web, there are ways to set up NFS further opening of this unit (NFS requires firmware patch, but – not a beginner!). Although not documented, I had the opportunity to connect the NAS device large IBM mainframe computer. I think that is not common, but it’s nice to know what it is you might be Network Attached Storage.
