My in-dash DVD player / radio / CD player / GPS has RCA inputs on the back and a mini-USB port on the front. I thought if I could use a USB-to-RCA adapter and mate it to my 500 GB hard drive, but I do not think they know each other. Are the assumptions correct? In addition there is a way for the USB connection for warranty?

if you get a hard drive with a single usb plug it will work. but it might be hard to find a external hard drive case that uses 1 usb as power and data out put, most have usb for data out and a power plug for power, you can get one of those but then you have to get a power converter that plugs in to the cig lighter but there $20 from walmart.
March 20, 2010, 10:15 amif you have just movies and songs on the hard drive it should work, it worked on my deck. the problem i had was that my hard drive had a program on it so all my deck would do was try to read the program.but then i deleted that progarm it worked.
