I THS ride yesterday, and was skeptical, because I just bought a different position from a few days before and had broken the back. In any case, this unit is well built and easy to connect, no drivers required for Windows Vista. Note carefully when connecting the plug from the device. . . . . It has S-Video connector, and is alligned properly so you bend the pins. I have burned quite a few video projects, and had no problems at all. I will not return all projects at top speed, and a real time-saver. I would definitely recommend this product to other members of the Amazon.

This is a very nice device, with one exception. I’ve tried some older blank Imation CD-R write and the device does not recognize this as the blank. After calling Imation (Memorex), and Iomega, I learned that Iomega does not support all of the manufacturers of the products. Worse still, the tech I spoke with had no idea about who could drive the device support. Buy CD’s locally provided that they can be returned if the Iomega device does not recognize them.

Only one warning for all Mac users, who are considering this – I could not find any info on Amazon about compatibility, but then saw this item for Mac Zone and thought it would be ok. I did it again today and it is now – I contacted Iomega live chat to see if the drivers are available, or if they have a similar article for the Mac, and was disappointed, and customer service. The representative was very slow to answer, but answered the first question I asked when I signed up again is another question, and finally answered me when I signed for the third time with a new name. Frankly, I was shocked, I’m not used to such terrible customer service! In any case, I am sure that the device is great for you PC people, but I hope that you have no technical problems contact the Iomega help!
I give it 4 stars because I have to give something to do, I honestly do not know how good it is.

I had mixed results in writing to a top speed of discs (Memorex DVD + R DL). There is no switch on the device. If an external device, this means I have to make it all the time, or pull the power cord. This is simply impossible to address. They offer a very short USB cable – the unit next to useless if you can set your computer. Finally, the bump case, means that the stack must be enabled devices (eg other DVD writers, HHDs, etc.).

I am so happy with the Iomega DVD recorder. I have a DVD copy for about 8 minutes. I used Memorex DVD-R (that’s all I had in those days) and had no problems. (Maddog, I had a DVD recorder and it was very difficult to use).
March 14, 2010, 9:07 pmEverything went so well with this recorder – I had to stop, that something would go wrong. – But no, 8 minutes.
I now have the courage to back up your files regularly. Trust my Iomega continue the good work!
