Having previously used 120 gigabyte version of the portable HD, I was hesitating or two before the Seagate “Go buy” 250GB: 120GB Seagate

“Go hard drive was very clear to Sound problem: It was just harder to noise and vibration than its brand name counterparts, like Western Digital or Toshiba turn 2.5 “hard drives. Since I use my laptop in bed, it was usual for me to go to bed and noise vibration feel, although the shutter in my ears!

that noise and vibration in question is often in the vanguard of the ‘unlikely to think of other good points, such as sustainable and robust construction, easy configuration abilites such as adjustable HD shutdown options, hassle-free USB connection and disk activity is commonplace and the use of large and bright LED.

But still, I have a Portable 250GB HD and I had to finally decide on the model. One of the options was Western Digital, LaCie their more shiny and attractive models on the other side and is able, but the large external desktop hard drive to the other side. A attractive design is a good start, but what I need absolute reliability and usefullnes. The huge capacity of external hard drives on the desktop is attractive, but I just wanted to make the power adapter is not, as it is hard to carry around, but because the amount of couplers are available in the home or office!

So I bought the 250GB version without testing the noise conditions, and hopes that they (the Seagate engineers) have done something about it.

and then only I, wow! Most of the noise and vibration was gone! Seagate engineers were certainly tinker with the hard disk and fixed it up. Even the Y-type A USB cable is retouched (It’s a bit smoother than the last)

Now is the perfect hard drive with 250 GB and good price. I recommend it to anyone.

If you’re like me, consider this product for use with your laptop. And it is quite brilliant. The small, lightweight, quiet, have a cool orange, the panel, and you probably can install to old Laptop Case without major problems. But the best result in the worst. This device requires no external power supply or a separate power supply. So does it mean when you travel, a clock, that is, a certain ubiquitous coffee shop, but you only need one outlet is a portable computer (or you can use your laptop battery). And there is no lugging around heavy network resources and associated cables. But to pull this off, the drive is powered by one * two * USB ports. Yes, the cable and connect to the computer status “Y” shape – on the other hand, the USB connector on one end and two full-size USB connections, both of which are linked – one power, electricity and other information. Yes, this is something to consider, depending on what you can use the USB port on your laptop (or an external mouse or trackball), and how many USB ports on your laptop is to use two, if you drive it . Unlike that a good product and could not recommend enough.

Note: If you want to avoid long review, go to the last paragraph of this as I have some useful tips on the best way to use the portable drive and how the ideal back-up data to keep.

Has given that the portable drive to buy on the market today is to do good in the short term – perhaps 3 months, 6 months or even years.

But if you buy a portable drive – you must look 3 to 5 years, for how long you probably do not plan to travel. You should look at the reliability of the drive – have not lost data, because the hard drive failures.

I’ve used various drives – Seagate, Western Digital, Hitachi, Samsung. . “But I can not vouch for the fact that Seagate is numero uno in the drive reliability. I have a lot of laptops and portable drives to me, but Seagate has Never Let Me Down.

; Seagate is usually slightly more expensive than others – but very reliable.
    < , br /> This special position:
+ It is light, is a dim light on the one hand, which says that the drive is connected to />
+ Thick and flexible USB cable, which is easy to shoot without fear of drive cable disconnect / twiching
    + + Very easy to
included Ceedo software, which allows desktop applications, portable transportation (I’ve never used it for himself but good reviews about this software via the internet) < br />
I do not like what the position:
    – I hope, if it is packaged in a slightly better backup software, such as Second Copy

    Tip # 1: Backup software
=======================< br /> Ok, now when you back-up position, how you intend to use it to back up your data on your laptop / desktop? I use software called Second Copy – which I think was very addictive to use: < br /> – Once you have this software installed, you can access all folders on your desktop / laptop that you want to back up and select a location where you backed up
    – You can use the backup profile so automatically or manually, the software differences between the 2 stations to find and show the differences to you and you can back up data on your laptop / desktop is your drive.

    ; Tip # 2: Secondary Backup
=========================< br /> + Now you back ups of all the settings and you can throw your hard disk of the laptop bag and, unfortunately, your bag in your car and the portable computer and the backup drive is stolen, what do you do in this case, if the primary data and back-up data have forgotten – has 2 options
    – not in possession of the portable drive into the same bag, which you can order a laptop on board with a minimal disruption of the /> < br - Or you can buy another drive - you can buy a comparable position, or 3 to 5 buy "big hard drive (with an external power supply), and keep the home and keep backups of both the position and a large portable disk in your house - this way, even if you lose your bag, or even if you lose your big hard drive at home, is another backward, my dear and you can retrieve data - photos, projects, films, music ...

    Tip # 3: Network status
============== ========< br / > This is the ultimate nirvana of each disk. basically you need a network drive in the device to buy and connect the hard drive of your computer when you do this and a few other options to do, you can drive available for a home network – so you can listen to music / watch films that exist on the hard drive from any computer in your house / the Apple TV …. Or you can leave your hard drive at home and use the data from outside your home (office / internet otherwise). on a home network will security, etc., so you need not fear the hacker access to the disk.

I have to drive for Christmas. I’m a Mac user, and got the Windows version, but the whole box, it cries for Mac-compatible, as long as you do not want to use the software. I do, I just wanted to back up my hard drive. Unfortunately, the status is not recognized on any computer, I tried. Granted, they are all Macs, but 4 computers. . . therefore left the matter with Seagate. Despite the e-mail to tell me to have to answer them within 24 hours, 2 weeks later, I contacted customer service. These hours are inconvenient. . . and after 10 minutes on hold the phone I decided to chat. This was another wait, but the agent is not available before someone answered the phone. I’ve seen on their website that the problem could be to do that ay cable needed (ok, I tried it on the table too much and it did not, but I hoped), and contact the customer service page says . Their answer was to “to buy”. So I ordered one on Amazon, and when the station was still not working. An e-mail waiting, the second 30 minutes on hold, and the representative tells me an IM contact customer service back to the device. Oh, and I pay shipping! I can not just set off the money I spent and a competitor instead.

I have this hard drive about 6 months. Requires no separate power supply, but the use of two USB ports. It is very thin, easy to carry with you, and works very quietly.

I use it two or three times a week and I have no problems so far. However, I tired of buying Seagate. Many of my friends have problems with their hard drives (although not specifically in this model).
