HP nc6230 laptop I have, but not cdr DVD burner on board, I have no recovery solutions CD was the laptop, I would ride back over the image on my USB drive with my laptop retsore as my drive goes down, or update, what the program does this? Is boot Windows Backup Manager job? If my drive calculates DOS not USB, I have no floppy drive, either!

I have HP dv6000 laptop. DVD-ROM drive laptop sitting out and I could not find a replacement. Anyway, I have an internal DVD drive (HP DVD10400i) and I use a USB converter connected to the USB port on my laptop. It reads DVD / CD, all fine, but when I try to burn a DVD / CD, it is not. Various DVD burning software for various errors occur. Nero gives an error that it can not find the specified drive. Asahmpoo asked the media to change (which I do), but in vain. I am really lost on what to do. Drive appears in Device Manager, et al, and I installed the bundled Nero software, but do not delay. Ideas on what could be wrong and any help is greatly appreciated.
